The Lord is near to the brokenhearted

and saves the crushed in spirit.

Psalm 34:18

This has been a year of great trouble.

All around the world there are be earthquakes, tsunamis, hurricanes, mudslides, not to mention terrorist attacks. There are so many people hurting in the world. Possibly even you are hurting today. You may be grieving the loss of a loved one, a job, or a home. When we are going through these things, we can feel anything but near to God. We may even feel that no person is near to you. It’s an indescribable feeling of hopelessness and despair.

But I submit to you. There is hope.

The God of the creation is also the God who sees you. He may seem silent and far away, but He is working to make things right again. Don’t give in to the enemies’ attempt to break you down and steal your joy.

For the One who is in you is greater than he who is in the world. Hold on to hope for God is near!   During the Christmas time, be reminded that He is Emmanual, God With Us! Take this advent season to be reminded that He is a God Hope, a God of Peace, a God of Joy, and a God of Love!

  1. Dear Mandy,
I love this: “The God of the creation is also the God who sees you. He may seem silent and far away, but He is working to make things right again.” He is watching and working for His Will to be seen! Thank you for these sweet thoughts!

    1. Yes, He does. Ever since I read Ann Graham Lotz’ book, Wounded By God’s People which is basically a study of Hagar The God Who Sees Me has been my favorite name of God.

I love reading your comments. Tell me what you think.
