“Stand at the crossroads and look; ask for the ancient paths,
ask where the good way is, and walk in it,
and you will find rest for your souls.” – Jeremiah 6:16
We humans don’t always make the best decisions. Sometimes we head down a path in life, only to discover that it’s probably not the best one we should have taken. Yet, we stumble on, blindly going into the unknown & caught off guard at every twist and turn.
The following comments are from the notes in my study Bible:
“The right path for living is ancient and has been marked out by God. But the people refused to take God’s path, going their own way instead. We face the same decision today, going God’s old but true way, or following a new path of our own choosing. Don’t be misled. The only way to find peace and ‘rest for your souls’ is to walk on God’s path.”
Daily, the Lord waits for us to take His hand and walk with Him, for He knows the way to where we should be going. The choice is ours: wander off on our own & be lost, or take His hand and follow Him.
Which do you choose?
