Good Morning!

Hey Friends! It’s Friday! And I’m linking up with Kate MotaungTo participate in Five Minute Friday, all you have to do is write for five minutes on the word of the week, post your words on your own blog, and link up the post. This is meant to be a free write, which means: no editing, no over-thinking, no worrying about perfect grammar or punctuation. This week’s word is “Morning”.

Help! I’m a morning person living in a family of night owls!

It must be true that you can take a girl out of the country but you can’t take the country out of the girl.

You see, I’m a farmer’s daughter. I grew up getting up early to milk the cows but my husband (raised in the city) is a night owl. He doesn’t go to sleep until 2am. Even after 26 years of marriage, I still can’t get used to it.

And my kids are just like him. I’m ready to retire at 11pm but this is when the kids come into the bedroom and start talking. (which I wouldn’t trade for the world).

HOWEVER, This winds me up for several hours and I can’t get to sleep. (That’s why I’m up at 5am writing this post.) Then when morning arrives. No one …even me can seem to wake up. This causes me to never accomplish what I want to accomplish before noon which frustrates me. And makes me feel as though I never get anything accomplished.

You’d think after 26 years I could figure this out. But No! My body still says, “There’s just something that ain’t right about this!”

I used to sing this song to the kids in the mornings when they were small …

You know a song like that could get someone seriously injured!

Well, I have no answers to my dilemma.

Anyone else out there in the same boat?
