I Want to Know Him

When it counts, I want to be found belonging to Him, not clinging to my own righteousness based on law, but actively relying on the faithfulness of the Anointed One. This is true righteousness, supplied by God, acquired by faith.10 I want to know Him inside and out. I want to experience the power of His resurrection and join in His suffering, shaped by His death, 11 so that I may arrive safely at the resurrection from the dead.

Philippians 3:9-11 (The Voice)

What do I want?

What do I want?

Really there is nothing I want more than to draw closer to Christ.

He has done so much for me and he is my dearest friend.

When people look at me, I want them to see Christ.

I want my life to be transparent so that only Christ shows through.

Whether times are good or times are bad, I want to know Christ. I want to get so close to Him that when I get to heaven it is no big thing to see him face to face. I know that it will be, but that’s the goal drawing closer and closer to Him.

NOT be trying to “do good”, I want Him to work through me until it just becomes a natural thing to serve him and think of others first.

I know that I haven’t reached the goal yet. But I am going to keep working towards knowing Him and realizing that everything here on earth is merely garbage in comparison to knowing the Kings of Kings and Lord of Lords.

  1. I haven’t read from The Voice translation before but I like what it says about “actively relying” on God’s faithfulness and your comment that it’s not about doing good but about God working through us. I want that too!

  2. Hi GiGi – so beautifully said, so full of your heart, made me stop and think especially this part – when people look at me I want them to see Christ. Mmm you’ve got me pondering. Your neighbour at FMF this week. God Bless

  3. THIS: “That everything here on earth is merely garbage in comparison to knowing the Kings of Kings and Lord of Lords.” I’m over in the #8 spot.

  4. “NOT be trying to “do good”, I want Him to work through me until it just becomes a natural thing to serve him and think of others first.” Mandy, this is my prayer, too. 🙂 Blessings to you!

I love reading your comments. Tell me what you think.
