My Redeemer Lives!

I know that my redeemer lives

and that in the end He shall stand upon the earth.

I myself will see Him with my own eyes – I, and not another.

How my heart yearns within me!

Job 19:25,27

Our ladies’ Bible Study will be studying the book of Ruth during the month of April. I have always liked the book of Ruth. It’s exciting to see how God took a son of a prostitute (Boaz son of Rahab) and a foreign widow (Ruth) and made them not only the grandparents of a great King, King David but also the ancestors of the Messiah. Doesn’t that give each one of us hope that there is hope for us no matter what we’ve done or where we’ve been?

As I have been doing my preliminary studies, I learn that Ruth is also a prophetic book to the final days on earth.

The nation of Israel, like Naomi, is on her way back to her ancient land. (The state of Israel was established in 1948 and many Jews have returned to their homeland since then.)  The marriage of the Church, that’s us as Christians, (foreshadowed by Ruth) will take place when the Lord Jesus, the bridegroom, foreshadowed by Boaz, will shout from the air, and we shall rise to meet Him! (1 Thessalonians 4:16-17)

[Wisdom of the Word – Servants of Deliverance and Grace]

Isn’t that exciting?

The verses above have been assigned as our scripture memory work. They come from the mouth of Job. Job…. the one who lost everything because of his faith. Doesn’t that give us hope that we, too, can make it through whatever life throws at us. And that we will rise to meet the King?  These verses are such an encouragement to me saying …

Jesus is Alive!

He Will Prevail

and in the end .. He Will Reign!

Oh Death, Where is your Victory?

Oh Grave, Where is you sting?

I Serve a Risen Savior!

He Lives!

Yearning to see Him with my own eyes!

P.S. Why do we only sing “He Lives” at Easter?
